Automotive Technician

Location: Kennewick, Washington, United States; on-site retail automotive service role

Salary: $19.25–$28.93 per hour through a performance-based flat-rate compensation model. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is paid as $750 after 30 days and $750 after 90 days.

What you will do

• Perform oil changes, scheduled maintenance, inspections, tire maintenance, and parts installation.
• Inspect steering, suspension, and brake systems.
• Install batteries and check vehicle electrical systems.
• Road test customer vehicles and assist with vehicle assessments and repair procedures.
• Explain repair procedures to customers, answer inquiries, and provide service support.
• Obtain or maintain at least one A.S.E. certification from A1–A8 within the first two years.

Requirements

• Ability to learn basic automotive mechanical tasks.
• Basic understanding of oil changes, vehicle inspections, tire repair, and general automotive maintenance.
• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify employment.

Nice to have

• Two years of automotive repair experience.
• Completion of a related vocational-technical program or demonstrated technical skills through third-party certificates or assessments.
• A.S.E. certification or equivalent external training credentials.
