Forward Deployed Data Scientist (On-site)

Location: Rome, Italy; flexible remote work with periodic presence required at the Rome headquarters

Salary: €40,000–€60,000 per year, with higher offers possible for exceptionally strong candidates

What you will do

• Work with enterprise customers and internal stakeholders to define business objectives and measurable data problems.
• Investigate internal and external data sources and perform exploratory data analysis.
• Develop metrics, statistical analyses, machine learning models, forecasting systems, experiments, and data products.
• Build prototypes and collaborate with engineering teams to deploy reliable production solutions.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations and present recommendations to technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and customers.
• Measure outcomes, improve deployed solutions, and develop reusable analytical methods and best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data science, data analytics, applied machine learning, or a related quantitative role.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, experimental design, statistical modeling, and model evaluation.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and strong experience with SQL and large, complex datasets.
• Experience with data pipelines, data warehouses, analytical workflows, business metrics, and at least one business intelligence or data visualization tool.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems, manage multiple stakeholders, and communicate technical findings clearly.
• Excellent written and spoken English; BSc or MSc in a relevant quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Customer-facing, consulting, solutions engineering, or forward deployed experience.
• Experience taking data science projects from discovery through deployment and business adoption.
• Experience with AWS, S3, Redshift, Redis, Spark, distributed data processing, or large-scale computing.
• Experience with product analytics, forecasting, optimization, experimentation, causal inference, or marketing and product platforms.
• Experience with NLP, large language models, multilingual technologies, data quality, monitoring, model observability, or production machine learning systems.
