Head of R&D Data Elaboration (Data Science)

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team focused on data elaboration, computational modelling, and visualization for R&D.
• Translate R&D stakeholder needs into data-driven analytical and visualization solutions.
• Drive the R&D digital roadmap and oversee the lifecycle of data models and visualizations from design through optimization.
• Develop advanced analytical models and support the R&D data elaboration platform, including high-performance computing solutions.
• Establish quality standards that ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of modelling and data elaboration activities.
• Manage collaboration with internal functions, external organizations, universities, and consortia, and communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience leading data elaboration or computational modelling in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medtech industry.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical development, drug development processes, relevant regulatory requirements, and product characterization.
• Knowledge of mathematical modelling, advanced analytics, statistics, simulation, machine learning, deep learning, big data management, and data management.
• Strong skills in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, programming languages including Python, R, and JavaScript, and SQL.
• Strong communication, collaboration, scientific rigor, reproducibility, and ability to work in complex cross-functional networks.

Nice to have

• Experience with pharmaceutical platforms and forms, especially inhalation products.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and analytical techniques used in pharmaceutical product development.
• Experience supporting R&D strategy with data science models and visualization.
