Senior Software Developer (Java Back-End)

Location: Remote from Romania; listed locations are Cluj and Bucharest.

What you will do

• Design architectures, prototypes, and technical proposals for the cloud platform.
• Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration.
• Define and evolve scalable, secure, and reliable back-end services for SaaS and multi-tenant platforms.
• Break down large initiatives, guide proposals through the SDLC, and improve build, CI/CD, and development practices.
• Resolve root causes of production issues and improve reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Mentor developers, facilitate cross-functional technical discussions, and lead responsible AI-assisted development workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with impact beyond a single team.
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed back-end systems, and cloud-native architecture, ideally with AWS.
• Experience designing and operating SaaS or multi-tenant platforms and scalable back-end services.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and software quality practices.
• Experience with HTTP APIs, including REST, GraphQL, or similar approaches, and with mentoring developers.
• Experience using agentic AI and AI-assisted development tools responsibly.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure or Google Cloud in addition to AWS.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio.
