Data Engineer

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week

Salary: EUR 2,400–4,100 per month, plus performance-based variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end data solutions from ETL processing through reporting and visualization.
• Develop and enhance reliable, governed, and high-quality data foundations using technologies including PostgreSQL and Palantir Foundry.
• Further develop internal and client-facing data solutions for the Alternative Capital Partners organization.
• Maintain code quality and automated testing through CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide operational support, troubleshoot production issues, and improve the resilience and security of the technology platform.
• Deliver business reporting aligned with closing cycles and financial market requirements while collaborating with global cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable engineering discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
• At least five years of experience building and operating data solutions.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong SQL, database, preferably PostgreSQL, and Python programming skills.
• Experience with data frameworks such as Pandas, Polars, or PySpark, and with Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or similar platforms.
• Experience with automated testing, such as pytest, or a test-driven development approach; excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Experience with batch processing, application operations, monitoring, and orchestration, preferably UC4.
• Knowledge of AI and ML engineering.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments using tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
