Backend Engineer (Python)

Location: Novi Beograd Office, Serbia; onsite

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend features, services, and email-rendering components for hirify.global Pulse and related email-marketing campaigns.
• Design, implement, document, and version API contracts for Pulse and campaign services.
• Design technical solutions for backend problems and document architectural decisions.
• Optimize database queries and indexing strategies to improve backend performance.
• Write integration tests, maintain test coverage, and perform code reviews.
• Maintain CI/CD configurations and apply observability practices for owned services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of backend or server-side software development experience with Python.
• Experience with REST APIs, relational databases, SQL, database design, ORM frameworks, migrations, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with HTML email templating and rendering.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, Git, CI/CD, service monitoring, and observability.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with a collaborative approach to knowledge sharing and mentoring.
