Cost Engineer for Airbus Aerostructures (Aerospace)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working model combining onsite and offsite work.

What you will do

• Coordinate internal and external resources while managing cost, schedule, quality, and project budgets.
• Manage design-to-cost projects with hirify.global Aerostructures suppliers.
• Identify supplier cost-optimization opportunities and conduct shop-floor assessments using lean principles.
• Analyze market data, supply chains, and detailed cost structures to support purchasing strategies.
• Represent cost and value engineering in supplier negotiations and advise strategic buyers through technical expertise.
• Track corrective measures, assess their effectiveness, and present project results to management.

Requirements

• Degree or comparable qualification in engineering, materials science, technical business administration, economics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of metallic and/or composite material manufacturing, production processes, and manufacturing technologies.
• Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, technical-information processing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience in project management; experience with strategic sourcing, design to cost/value, lean management, and cost calculation is desirable.
• Business-fluent English is required; German is desirable.
• Experience with MS Office, Google Suite, SAP, Business Warehouse, PLM, Catia, and FactonD.
