TL;DR
mRNA Production Technician (Biotechnology): Producing, purifying, quality-checking, and documenting mRNA products at a Delft manufacturing facility with an accent on PCR, in-vitro transcription, enzymatic reactions, HPLC purification, and laboratory quality control. Focus on executing validated production SOPs, characterizing intermediates and final products, maintaining accurate process documentation, and managing production materials.

Location: Biotech Campus Delft, South Holland, Netherlands; 100% onsite. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the Netherlands for at least three years and reside in or within a reasonable commuting distance from Delft.

What you will do

  • Process DNA using PCR, digestion, and purification to prepare templates for in-vitro transcription.
  • Perform enzymatic reactions and multistep synthesis and process development for key reagents.
  • Purify mRNA using HPLC, spin columns, and related technologies.
  • Conduct in-process and final-product quality checks, including gel electrophoresis and capillary electrophoresis.
  • Follow validated production SOPs and maintain accurate documentation of processes and materials.
  • Manage inventory, order production materials, and perform routine laboratory maintenance.

Requirements

  • Completed MBO Level 4, Associate Degree, HBO Bachelor's degree, or equivalent international qualification in biotechnology, life sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with mRNA or oligonucleotide chemistry.
  • Experience with PCR, HPLC, enzymatic reactions, and techniques such as column chromatography or mass spectrometry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, cross-disciplinary team and in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Fluent English required.
  • Legal right to work in the Netherlands for at least three years and residence within reasonable commuting distance of Delft required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
