Sr Principal Engineer, Electrical (Medical Devices): Leading electrical hardware, embedded systems, controls integration, and verification for connected monitoring, cardiology, respiratory, and diagnostic medical devices with an accent on safety-critical design, power systems, and regulatory compliance. Focus on designing analog and digital circuits, solving complex electro-mechanical integration challenges, and transitioning validated products into manufacturing.

What you will do
- Define electrical design requirements, hardware specifications, and electronic system architectures based on customer and user needs.
- Lead analog and digital circuit design for microcontroller- and microprocessor-based systems, including products with AC/DC, DC/DC, lithium-ion, and AA battery power sources.
- Analyze circuit performance using simulation and calculation methods, including LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB, signal integrity, and power integrity analysis.
- Direct circuit assembly layouts to meet EMI/EMC, immunity, and design-for-manufacturability requirements.
- Define verification methods and execute validation, safety, effectiveness, troubleshooting, and problem-solving activities for electrical systems and subsystems.
- Lead product realization, sustenance engineering, lifecycle management, manufacturing transition, and collaboration across engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, medical, and clinical functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience designing and developing medical devices or complex electro-mechanical products.
- Strong expertise in electrical systems, embedded systems, controls, electro-mechanical integration, system verification, requirements flow-down, risk management, and power supply or motor drive design.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC and FDA, ISO, IEC, IEC 60601, UL, ANSI, and ASTM regulatory standards.
- Experience with quality systems, design controls, GMP, validation, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, communication, strategic R&D planning, and complex problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Six Sigma methodologies such as DFSS, DFM, and DFR.
- Experience with medical devices, diagnostics, laboratory testing products, or similar products.
