Head of DevOps and AI Platform (Crypto)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom; remote work from almost anywhere is available for up to 90 days per year.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, coach, and develop a combined team of approximately twelve DevOps and AI Platform engineers.
• Set the DevOps strategy and operating model for release safety, developer experience, observability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Lead the AI Platform centre of excellence responsible for shared agent-building frameworks, patterns, MCP management, evaluation capabilities, and AI infrastructure.
• Disseminate reusable AI agent practices to product teams and channel feedback back into the central platform function.
• Partner with technical leads and senior engineers on technical direction while owning people leadership and delivery.
• Champion SRE, FinOps, infrastructure maturity, and readiness for ISO 27001 and SOC2 certifications.

Requirements

• Experience managing DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineers, including hiring and building growing teams.
• Strong infrastructure background across cloud, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability.
• Hands-on engineering experience and sufficient Kubernetes literacy to evaluate platform decisions.
• Practical and responsible use of AI in an engineering context, with the ability to establish effective team norms.
• Strong interest in AI-assisted software development, agents, evaluations, adoption practices, and guardrails.
• Ability to lead through people, make pragmatic strategic decisions, and guide senior engineers without needing to be the hands-on technical expert.

Nice to have

• Experience leading an internal platform, ML platform, developer-experience, or enablement function.
• Exposure to agent frameworks, MCP, or evaluation frameworks.
• Experience in a scaling company or with high-throughput, low-latency systems in regulated or financial environments.
• Exposure to ISO 27001 and SOC2 requirements.
• Crypto experience.
