Senior Production Engineering Manager

What you will do

• Lead the Embedded team within Production Engineering and guide experienced engineers through complex production challenges.
• Improve the safety of software changes and build reliability, observability, and resilience into critical systems.
• Partner with engineering teams across the organization, using influence to shape technical decisions and deliver cross-team outcomes.
• Define the team's engagement model, priorities, success measures, and operating practices as the function develops.
• Turn engagement learnings into reusable engineering practices, patterns, and capabilities.
• Coach senior engineers and technical leads, build psychological safety, and develop future technical leaders.

Requirements

• Experience leading senior software engineers and technical leads through complex or ambiguous work.
• Production engineering experience in environments where reliability, scalability, and operational risk were important.
• Experience building trust across teams, leading cross-organizational initiatives, and driving adoption of new engineering practices.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, multithreading, and data structures.
• Depth in Go, Python, Java, or C++, plus knowledge of system internals, networking, cloud platforms, system design, and architecture.
• Experience with observability, capacity, failure modes, and large-scale or high-criticality production systems.

Nice to have

• Experience leading Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related function.
• Experience with large-scale storage, CDN, networking, or distributed infrastructure.
• Experience developing senior engineers and technical leads.
• Experience defining the identity, operating model, or scope of a technical function.
