Senior Software Engineer – Python

hirify.global is a private equity-backed technology company providing marketplace and SaaS platforms for live event ticket distribution and sales fulfillment.

What you will do

• Lead backend initiatives from planning through launch and own their technical execution.
• Design, develop, and rewrite complex Python and FastAPI services, including difficult data migrations.
• Shape service architecture, document design decisions, and communicate technical tradeoffs.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Build AI-assisted engineering tooling, prompt patterns, and agentic workflows.
• Support production systems through code review, on-call incident response, and postmortems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production software.
• Strong Python and FastAPI experience, or experience with a comparable asynchronous web framework.
• Deep knowledge of backend systems, API design, or distributed Python services.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and explain tradeoffs clearly in writing.
• Experience mentoring engineers and helping teammates grow.
• Fluent use of AI tooling across design, coding, testing, debugging, reviewing, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Celery, SQLAlchemy at scale, and Kafka-backed event pipelines.
• Experience leading projects in marketplace, ticketing, e-commerce, or two-sided platform environments.
• Familiarity with Datadog, Grafana, Kibana, Airbrake, Sentry, OpsGenie, or comparable production tools.
