Senior Software Engineer (Scala)

Location: Hybrid in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Gush Dan, Israel

What you will do

• Help build a new team and own a core part of the identity platform end to end.
• Shape architecture, technology choices, engineering standards, and team practices.
• Deliver infrastructure and customer-facing features from design through production.
• Write secure, efficient, modular, testable code for platform services and microservices in Scala.
• Contribute to the React and TypeScript frontend while owning features across the stack.
• Design highly available, latency-sensitive backend systems and expand the platform into data pipelines and large-scale data processing.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience developing production backend services at scale.
• Strong architecture and system design skills, with experience building scalable systems.
• Deep expertise in at least one statically typed language such as Scala, Kotlin, Java, C#, C++, or Go; Scala is a significant advantage.
• Experience changing primary programming languages and willingness to make Scala the next primary language.
• Comfort with functional programming concepts, including immutability, algebraic data types, type-driven design, composition, and pure functions.
• Experience with relational databases, cloud environments, and containers, including PostgreSQL or similar, AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
