Close Protection Officer

Location: On-site in Rosemead, California, United States; work may also occur at SCE facilities, field locations, and other locations across the service territory. Up to 60% travel is required, including travel with principals.

Salary: $61.54–$92.26 per hour

What you will do

• Provide discreet physical protection for executives during travel, events, and daily activities.
• Coordinate secure transportation through route planning, vehicle inspections, and emergency contingency planning.
• Monitor environments, conduct counter-surveillance, and identify potential threats.
• Perform risk assessments and advance visits to venues, hotels, offices, and travel routes.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and SCE Corporate Security.
• Maintain confidentiality and readiness through training in defensive tactics, first aid, firearms, and corporate security procedures.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in law enforcement, military, security, or protective services.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Current California BSIS Guard Permit and Exposed Firearm Carry Permit, or the ability to obtain both within six months.
• Valid California CCW license or LEOSA compliance.
• Ability to work on-site, travel extensively, work in the field, and accompany principals on business and personal trips.
• Ability to pass physical-readiness, cardiovascular-fitness, behavioral-health, personnel-risk, and background evaluations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, homeland security, security management, emergency management, law enforcement, protective services, intelligence studies, or a related field.
• Experience protecting corporate executives, dignitaries, VIPs, or other high-profile individuals.
• Advanced experience in threat assessments, route and venue advances, site surveys, counter-surveillance, tactical driving, or defensive tactics.
• Certifications such as TCCC/TECC, EMT, First Aid, CPR, or AED.
• Membership in professional protective services or executive protection organizations.
