Mobile Device RE / Software Engineer (Mobile Forensics)

Location: Hybrid in Lorton, Virginia, with up to two days per week on-site at the customer location and additional one- to two-week on-site workshops throughout the year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and integrate software features for mobile device forensic analysis and reverse engineering.
• Analyze mobile applications, including decompiling software and examining raw binary data.
• Apply software engineering and database practices to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with data architects and software developers to ensure data models support software use cases.
• Use Agile practices, issue tracking, shared coding standards, documentation, and unit testing.
• Lead project tasks and manage timelines while working independently or with limited supervision.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI access with a CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least six years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with Python, C, C++, and other programming languages; mobile application or systems experience, preferably with iOS.
• Experience with Git, relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite, and industry-standard reverse-engineering tools including IDA Pro, Ghidra, JEB, or Hopper.
• Strong understanding of collaborative software development, Agile teams, developer documentation, unit testing, and project task management.

Nice to have

• Rust, JavaScript, Linux, GNU Debugger, and knowledge of x86 and ARM architectures.
• Experience identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities, application hooking, software release management, and the Atlassian suite.
• Computer Network Operations experience.
