Senior CNO Developer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Jessup, Maryland, United States; onsite role

Salary: $112,400–$186,500 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop low-level Computer Network Operations capabilities, tools, and applications.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including design, documentation, testing, and debugging.
• Troubleshoot complex low-level software systems and investigate system behavior.
• Apply networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and socket-level programming.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and mission partners to support system performance and security.
• Maintain software quality, secure coding practices, testing, and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and at least 12 years of software engineering experience, or a high school diploma and at least 16 years of relevant technical experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with network programming and socket-level development.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with Polygraph required.
• U.S. person status is required under ITAR/EAR regulations; U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience developing CNO capabilities or performing software reverse engineering.
• Familiarity with assembly-level concepts and low-level system behavior.
• Experience with system internals across Windows, Unix, mobile, or network-device platforms.
• Knowledge of unit testing and test automation.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or Crucible.
