JR0286659 Lab/Test Mechanical Engineer (Temporary Position)

Location: On-site in Guadalajara, Mexico. The role requires an on-site presence and unrestricted, permanent authorization to work in Mexico. Employment-based visa or immigration sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, monitor, and analyze mechanical and environmental qualification tests using thermal chambers, shock systems, vibration tables, and other laboratory equipment.
• Develop test methods and procedures to evaluate product strength, durability, reliability, and environmental performance.
• Analyze test data, identify trends, and provide engineering recommendations.
• Prepare test plans, reports, failure analyses, and traceability records.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause investigations, corrective actions, calibration, metrology, and measurement system validation.
• Collaborate with design, validation, reliability, and manufacturing teams while supporting laboratory safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or BS degree in a relevant engineering or technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in product validation, reliability testing, laboratory operations, or engineering test activities.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting thermal chambers, shock systems, vibration tables, and related test equipment.
• Experience with additive manufacturing, prototyping, laboratory maintenance, calibration, preventive maintenance, and engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Advanced English communication skills are required.
• Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico is required; visa or immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with dye-and-pry analysis, failure investigations, thermal management, heat transfer, and thermo-mechanical testing.
• Knowledge of electromechanical systems, sensors, instrumentation, data acquisition, and reliability testing methodologies.
• Experience with server, data center, electronics, or hardware development programs.
• Working knowledge of CAD, statistical analysis, measurement system analysis, or Design of Experiments.
• Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical, environmental, and reliability testing.
