Solutions Architect I or II (Corporate Solutions)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in the office at offices in Portland, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; Boise, Idaho; Fargo, North Dakota; Vancouver, Washington; Renton, Washington; Medford, Oregon; Burlington, Washington; or Lewiston, Idaho. Preference is given to candidates within commuting distance or willing to relocate.

Salary: Solutions Architect I expected hiring range of $114,000–$143,000 per year in Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho; Solutions Architect II expected hiring range of $140,000–$175,000 per year. North Dakota ranges also apply.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority for Corporate Solutions architecture across Finance, Legal, Compliance, Imaging, Archiving, Middleware, and Integration platforms.
• Assess legacy environments and technical debt, then create pragmatic modernization roadmaps.
• Design scalable solutions using modern integration, data pipeline, cloud, serverless, and database patterns.
• Evaluate AI platforms and partner with enterprise AI teams to implement AI-enabled business solutions.
• Guide build-versus-buy decisions, vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, code reviews, and complex technical troubleshooting.
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers and architects, estimate delivery needs, and document solutions in the enterprise architecture modeling environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least seven years of IT experience, including technical leadership and architecture experience.
• For Solutions Architect I: at least three years designing end-to-end solutions; for Solutions Architect II: at least five years designing enterprise-scale solutions.
• Strong experience with enterprise application ecosystems, integration architecture, REST, event-driven APIs, managed file transfer, EDI/X12, Kafka, ETL, and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure, cloud and on-premises environments, modern development languages, SQL, and legacy codebases.
• Ability to communicate with engineers, executives, and non-technical stakeholders, influence without direct authority, and mentor technical teams.

Nice to have

• Health insurance industry, payer-oriented processes, health insurance technologies, and regulations.
• Advanced degree, TOGAF or ArchiMate knowledge, and experience with enterprise architecture modeling tools.
• Experience with BPM, business rules engines, containers, observability tools, and AI/ML platforms.
