Equipment Specialist II

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

What you will do

• Independently troubleshoot, repair, maintain, recover, and validate automated manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical system issues using technical drawings and precision measurement tools.
• Lead PDCA-based problem solving and root cause investigations to reduce defects, downtime, and recurring equipment failures.
• Analyze equipment and production data using Excel, Tableau, JMP, MES, or equivalent systems.
• Install and validate equipment improvements, modifications, engineering changes, and corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance, training, coaching, and shift handoffs while collaborating with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or five years of equivalent hands-on mechanical experience.
• At least four years of manufacturing, industrial maintenance, equipment support, automation, mechatronics, or related technical experience, or one year as a PECNA Maintenance Technician.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems and independently implement corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems, controls software, automated manufacturing equipment, and basic vision-system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, MES, Tableau, and data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, or MATLAB.
• Working-level English proficiency and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial technology.
• Experience with Sysmac, Omron PLC software, CAD, automated inspection equipment, or advanced manufacturing analytics.
• QET certification, Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher, root cause analysis training, or completion of the PECNA Maintenance Apprenticeship Program.
• Experience with fabrication, machining, welding, equipment modifications, or technical devices such as 3D printers and laser scanners.
