Principal Perception Architect (AI)

Location: Onsite at the Irving, Texas office five days a week; up to 25% domestic travel. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $147,760–$240,110 per year

What you will do

• Define modular perception machine-learning architecture for camera-based detection, drivable-area understanding, point-cloud segmentation, object detection, and 4D radar perception.
• Own sensor-fusion architecture across cameras, lidar, 4D radar, IMU, GNSS, and machine-state data.
• Define object tracking and persistence architecture, including association, lifecycle management, occlusion handling, and cross-machine object representation.
• Own 3D mapping architecture, including local scene representation, map alignment, and persistent world models.
• Define perception interfaces for robotics, simulation, validation, world-model creation, and safety analysis.
• Collaborate with edge-platform, robotics, and simulation teams to turn perception algorithms into autonomy capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong experience with modular perception machine learning and sensor fusion for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
• Hands-on experience with camera images, lidar and 4D radar point clouds, IMU, GNSS, and machine-state data.
• Strong understanding of object detection, drivable-area understanding, ground-plane segmentation, object tracking and fusion, and 3D mapping.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with edge-platform, robotics, and simulation teams.
• Full-time onsite work at the Irving, Texas office five days per week is required.
