Salary: $150,000–$185,000 base compensation annually, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

  • Own research data campaigns from planning and sample selection through annotation, quality review, and delivery.
  • Define labeling objectives, annotation schemas, inclusion criteria, and acceptance criteria with Data and Research Scientists.
  • Design reproducible annotation workflows covering data ingestion, schema mapping, ontology validation, and dataset delivery.
  • Measure ground-truth quality, reproducibility, agreement, and annotation reliability.
  • Translate research initiatives into data requirements and coordinate dependencies, priorities, timelines, and resources.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Research, Process Engineering, Product, Clinical, and Regulatory teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in research, systems engineering, or a related field, ideally in medical imaging, medical devices, or another regulated domain.
  • Experience translating complex research needs into executable programs and delivering complete, documented outputs.
  • Knowledge of reproducibility, agreement, error detection, and data or experiment quality methods.
  • Understanding of medical image data structures and workflows, including DICOM, and the clinical challenges of annotation.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for building and validating data pipelines, computing quality metrics, and documenting datasets.

Nice to have

  • Experience running annotation or ground-truth campaigns for medical imaging AI, especially CT or cardiovascular imaging.
  • Familiarity with intraclass correlation, Bland-Altman analysis, and other agreement statistics.
  • Experience with large-scale SQL querying and cloud storage such as AWS.
