Lead Applied AI Engineer

Location: On-site in New York, NY; candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to New York, NY

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Design, implement, and deploy end-to-end AI workflows and agents for multiple business domains.
• Develop agent architectures, evaluation pipelines, and performance frameworks focused on reliability and measurable outcomes.
• Lead technical projects from scope through delivery and set standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and project planning.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into technical plans.
• Identify tooling and framework gaps, contribute to LangChain and LangGraph open-source components, and drive agent-powered automation across functions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, including building and deploying production LLM-powered applications or agents.
• Experience leading technical projects end to end, mentoring engineers, and improving team technical quality.
• Hands-on experience with agent or workflow evaluation and monitoring systems.
• Strong understanding of prompting, retrieval, orchestration, inference APIs, and model selection across modalities.
• Strong coding skills in Python or TypeScript, ideally both.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York, NY.

• Expertise with LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience building or maintaining open-source projects.
