Sr Lead Software Engineer (AI Security Platform)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $114,500–$194,700 USD per year, plus potential discretionary bonus and equity component.

What you will do

• Own the technical development and architectural evolution of an AI-powered code security scanner platform.
• Develop and enhance the React web application, dashboards, workflows, administration features, and secure authentication.
• Maintain Python orchestration and scanning services and integrate Azure AI Foundry and LLM-based security analysis.
• Improve automated vulnerability analysis, reporting, verification, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows, CI/CD pipelines, ephemeral runners, and infrastructure automation.
• Design and support Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, monitoring, logging, Entra ID, managed identities, and RBAC.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in regulated environments.
• Expert-level React and Python development, with JavaScript, TypeScript, API design, automation, orchestration, and test automation experience.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD design, infrastructure automation, and container technologies.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience, including Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Entra ID, managed identities, and Azure RBAC.
• Experience integrating LLMs, Azure AI Foundry or equivalent AI platforms, and agent-based workflows.
• Knowledge of secure software development, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, secrets management, container security, and application vulnerability management.

Nice to have

• Experience building security scanning platforms or AI-assisted developer and security tooling.
• Application Security or DevSecOps background, including SARIF and static analysis tools.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, sandboxed execution environments, Azure APIM, and enterprise networking.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
