Platform Engineer (AWS Cloud)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain AWS GovCloud infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation and AWS Landing Zone Accelerator architecture.
• Administer AWS accounts, VPC networking, compute, EC2, S3, and other core cloud services.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for automated build, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Develop and maintain Docker and Kubernetes/EKS platforms for internal application workloads.
• Manage AWS IAM, SSO/SAML/SCIM integrations, monitoring, logging, observability, backup automation, and disaster recovery.
• Provide escalation support, technical guidance, stakeholder updates, and continuous improvements to platform security and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or equivalent education and experience, with 4+ years of experience.
• Deep hands-on experience building and operating production workloads on AWS, including IAM, VPC networking, EC2, S3, and core services.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, CI/CD, scripting in Python or Bash, containers, and orchestration.
• Working knowledge of Azure administration and Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, IT security, firewalls, backups, networking, DNS, DHCP, virtualization, patch management, and storage administration.
• Access to export-controlled technical data may require additional screening under U.S. export control laws, NASA regulations, ITAR, or EAR; meeting eligibility requirements is a condition of employment. Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required is also expected.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification at Associate or Professional level.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification.
