Software Development Engineer (RDS SQL Server)

hirify.global develops AWS cloud services, including hirify.global RDS for SQL Server, which enables customers to operate and scale SQL Server databases without managing the underlying infrastructure.

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of features, from requirements gathering and design documents through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build efficient, maintainable, production-ready software for highly reliable and scalable database systems.
• Design control, monitoring, replication, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities for hirify.global RDS for SQL Server.
• Break down ambiguous systems problems, make technical trade-offs, and influence architecture and engineering practices.
• Debug production issues, review code, and collaborate with partner teams across multiple geographies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical interviews and team development.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience excluding internships.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling concerns.
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices across the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience debugging and profiling large-scale systems.
