Site Reliability Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, ON; work arrangement includes on-site and remote work, with the proportion discussed during the interview.

What you will do

• Drive SRE practices for Tier 1 wealth management trading platforms, improving availability, resiliency, observability, and operational performance.
• Provide senior production support in a 24x7 environment and lead resolution of critical incidents, business escalations, and service disruptions.
• Define and report reliability metrics, SLOs, operational health indicators, and performance trends.
• Lead root cause investigations, incident reviews, problem management, recovery coordination, and continuous reliability improvements.
• Coordinate vendors, internal technology teams, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and project teams.
• Support change and release management, production readiness, monitoring and automation improvements, runbooks, recovery procedures, regulatory changes, and business transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in application support, application reliability engineering, SRE, production operations, or technology operations within a financial institution.
• Experience supporting Tier 1 mission-critical applications in a 24x7 production environment.
• Strong knowledge of incident, problem, change, and major incident management.
• Experience managing external technology vendors supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, automation, reliability measurement, and service resiliency improvements.
• Strong knowledge of wealth management and trading platforms, including equities, bonds, GICs, mutual funds, and related investment products; candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location.
