What you will do

• Design, build, train, and deploy machine learning models and AI systems, including large language models, in enterprise and Government environments.
• Translate VA mission and business requirements into deployable AI/ML solutions with data scientists, software developers, and domain experts.
• Collect, clean, and analyze data for AI modeling and apply AI solutions to operational problems across VA business and mission areas.
• Ensure AI systems and LLMs comply with federal and VA Trustworthy AI, Unbiased AI, data protection, and security requirements.
• Develop AI/LLM documentation packages, attestations, compliance monitoring and reporting plans, model evaluations, and change disclosures.
• Identify material compliance deviations, create corrective action plans, and evaluate emerging AI technologies to improve automation and mission outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in IT security, data science, or software engineering, including at least 5 years designing, developing, or deploying AI/ML systems in enterprise or Government environments.
• Expertise building, training, and deploying production machine learning models and AI systems.
• Expertise in data collection, cleaning, analysis, and applying AI solutions to large-enterprise or Government problems.
• Expertise collaborating with data scientists, software developers, and domain experts.
• Master’s degree in AI, business, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, information security, information resource management, or a related field.
• Certification in one or more of IAT Level III, IAM Level III, or IASAE Level III; these certifications may substitute for a relevant bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience.
