What you will do
- Develop and implement structural project deliverables under the direction of an assigned mentor.
- Analyze building materials and design load-bearing structures, equipment supports, and foundations.
- Perform structural analysis of new and existing structures under gravity, wind, and seismic loads.
- Prepare structural calculations, reports, and details that comply with client, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Lay out structural systems, conduct field investigations, and coordinate designs with other disciplines.
- Coordinate with project teams, vendors, clients, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple disciplines and with external stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn about the architecture, engineering, and construction industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world projects.
Nice to have
- Progress toward or completion of Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration.
- Familiarity with computer-aided drafting, process modeling, and engineering calculation software.
- Familiarity with AEC regulations and industry standards.
- Prior structural engineering internship or co-op experience.
- Interest in the life sciences or food and beverage industry.
