Welding Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden. Preferably on-site, with a hybrid setup of up to two remote days per week available for discussion. Travel may be required for up to 30 days per year, including customer-site activities.

What you will do

• Lead Applications Engineering projects from initial requests through final reporting.
• Provide welding engineering expertise to internal and external customers.
• Plan and coordinate welding trials, testing, and technical investigations.
• Collaborate with chemical, metallographic, mechanical, and non-destructive testing laboratories.
• Analyze test results and develop conclusions, recommendations, welding procedures, and customer solutions.
• Evaluate product combinations, perform competitor comparisons, interpret welding standards, and prepare technical reports.

Requirements

• Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field; minimum BSc.
• Several years of relevant experience in welding technology and applications.
• Practical experience with welding processes, equipment, materials, and process parameters.
• Experience with project management, ownership, stakeholder coordination, welding standards, and test methods.
• IWE qualification is preferred; IWT or equivalent competence with relevant experience is also considered.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. Swedish is desirable but not mandatory.

Nice to have

• MSc or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• IWE qualification.
• Swedish language skills.
