Director, Head of IT – Data, Analytics, Information Management, Automation & AI

Location: Based in Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; non-routine overnight travel may be required based on business need.

Salary: $172,000–$287,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive.

What you will do

• Define and execute a multi-year enterprise roadmap for data, analytics, information management, automation, AI, and GenAI.
• Build governed data foundations, reusable data entities and products, integrations, mastering, lineage, quality, stewardship, and a searchable enterprise data marketplace.
• Lead analytics enablement, self-service reporting, natural-language insights, AI/GenAI applications, and buy-versus-build assessments.
• Scale RPA, workflow and intelligent automation, test automation, chatbots, process mining, optimization, and agentic AI orchestration.
• Partner with business leaders across R&D, Commercial, Technical Operations, Quality, Medical, and enterprise functions to prioritize use cases and deliver business value.
• Lead managers and senior technical leaders while overseeing operations, budgets, vendors, platform investments, contracts, and portfolio prioritization.

Requirements

• Highly experienced, hands-on technology leadership across enterprise data, analytics, information management, automation, AI, and GenAI.
• Strong technical credibility, architectural judgment, business partnership, stakeholder management, and transformation leadership skills.
• Experience establishing data governance, stewardship, data quality, access, privacy, security, and responsible AI practices.
• Ability to align data and AI practices with GxP, SOX, GDPR, and data privacy expectations in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Quality, and Security.
• Experience managing managers and senior technical leaders and building a culture of engineering excellence and business empathy.
• Must be based in Bedford, Massachusetts, United States.
