Data and AI Platform Engineer (CloudZero)

What you will do

• Build and govern data pipelines into Snowflake, creating a modeled surface for analysts and agents.
• Own and automate core IT systems including Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Slack, and Jira.
• Develop the retrieval layer for AI agents, including chunking strategies, embedding pipelines, and index freshness.
• Implement identity-inheritance models so agents operate with the specific permissions of the user invoking them.
• Create self-service AI landing zones across AWS, GCP, and Azure for internal teams.
• Drive automation to eliminate manual work and repeated data requests across the company.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience at the intersection of data engineering and infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in Snowflake (RBAC, policy, cost model) and Python.
• Strong experience with dbt or equivalent modeling tools and orchestration (Dagster, Airflow, Prefect).
• Hands-on production experience with AI/LLM agents, RAG, and tool-calling.
• Deep knowledge of AWS (Bedrock, IAM, Lambda) with working knowledge of GCP and Azure.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid out of the Boston office.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming or event-driven data (Kafka, Kinesis, Snowpipe).
• Practical familiarity with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance.
• Experience measuring retrieval quality in RAG systems.
