Internship Sustainable Capital Markets

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid working. Applicants must be enrolled at a Dutch university, or at an EU university if they hold an EU passport, for the full internship duration.

Internship allowance: €700 per month based on a 36-hour work week, plus public transport cost reimbursement.

ING Wholesale Banking provides capital markets, financial markets, and sustainable finance advisory services through its international banking network.

What you will do

• Lead pitch preparation for sustainable capital markets opportunities.
• Support debt capital markets deal execution, including investor presentations and green shading of order books.
• Assist with structuring mandates for green, social, sustainable, and sustainability-linked bonds.
• Identify market opportunities and monitor ESG regulations and sustainable finance developments using market research sources.
• Coordinate with sustainable finance, DCM origination, syndicate, sales, and research stakeholders to develop opportunities and client cross-sell.

Requirements

• Full-time availability for a minimum of six months and enrollment at a Dutch university, or an EU university for EU passport holders, throughout the internship are mandatory.
• At least a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree from an internationally acclaimed university is preferred.
• Affinity with sustainable finance and financial markets, with basic knowledge of ESG topics.
• Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Fluent English and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Coursework in finance, economics, law, political science, international relations, sustainability, or business studies.
• Internship or relevant work experience.
• Basic knowledge of international bond markets, fixed-income instruments, and financial statements.
