Director, Security Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote; must be hired anywhere in the continental U.S. Occasional travel of typically less than 15% may be required. Participation in 24x7x365 support, maintenance windows, on-call coverage, and escalations is required.

What you will do

• Lead the security engineering practice across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and other security platforms.
• Set the technical direction for MDR, co-managed SIEM, data engineering, and Tier 1 engineering triage offerings.
• Define platform architecture, detection engineering standards, data-pipeline design, and SOAR orchestration practices.
• Drive process, documentation, detection-content, automation, and orchestration improvements while tracking SLOs and client experience metrics.
• Manage practice strategy, offer development, sales enablement, budgeting, vendor decisions, staffing, and executive escalations.
• Develop Senior Managers, Managers, and engineers through recruitment, coaching, performance management, and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; a related master’s degree is preferred.
• 10 or more years of information security and professional or managed services experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of security engineering, SOC platform, or MSS delivery teams, including people managers.
• Strong experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, Wiz, Cribl, and other security platforms.
• Experience with practice management, offer and sales enablement, and managed security services engagements.
• Ability to participate in scheduled and on-call support across a 24x7x365 service.

Nice to have

• Advanced security or leadership certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
• Relevant security platform vendor certifications.
• Experience scaling security operations through automation and orchestration technologies.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
