Principal/Team Lead, Digital Verification Engineer (FEC)

Location: Ottawa, Canada; onsite

Annual salary: $133,100–$212,500.

What you will do

• Develop verification, functional coverage, and formal verification test plans for Forward Error Correction IP.
• Validate architectural FEC functional blocks and subsystems using simulation, formal verification, and coverage methods.
• Build testbench environments, agents, scoreboards, and test scenarios with SystemVerilog UVM and C++.
• Perform coverage-driven verification, monitor regressions, and debug failures with digital designers.
• Collaborate with FEC designers, DSP modelers, verifiers, systems engineers, and architects.
• Mentor and supervise junior verification engineers, communicate progress, and manage technical risks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in digital verification.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
• Significant experience with C/C++, SystemVerilog, UVM, SVA, and major-vendor simulators.
• Ability to define comprehensive digital verification and coverage strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, decision-making, and complex problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with formal verification methods and a strong background in FEC and/or DSP.
• Familiarity with Python, Make, Bash, object-oriented programming, C, and C++.
• Experience with Jira, Git, team leadership, and mentoring.
