Test Automation Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; US Citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance are required. The role supports a client located in Washington, DC.

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop automation strategies and execution plans aligned with release and quality objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain UI, API, and integration automation suites using Tricentis and modern testing approaches.
• Create complex test scenarios covering edge cases, failure modes, functional requirements, performance, and reliability.
• Execute tests, analyze results, identify defects, and isolate root causes across application and environment layers.
• Maintain regression coverage, test data, quality-control artifacts, and standards-compliance documentation.
• Improve automation frameworks, tooling, testability, and quality processes while collaborating with engineering and product stakeholders.

Requirements

• US Citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance are required.
• 6–7 years of relevant test automation and quality engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Tricentis test automation solutions and automated testing with TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
• Experience with React, Next.js, or Angular, including component and UI testing; Testing Library, UI automation, API testing, and contract testing.
• Experience testing backend services and microservices, including Spring Boot, and managing builds with Maven.
• Experience with Testcontainers, scalable automation frameworks, clean code, modularity, version control, CI/CD integration, troubleshooting, and defect isolation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing workflows using OpenCode, Claude Code, or Gemini Vertex AI.
