Product Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, requiring at least four days per week at the Maplewood site. Up to 10% domestic or international travel may be required. Relocation assistance may be authorized.

Salary: $98,964–$120,957 annual compensation, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Lead management-of-change projects, including raw material and manufacturing qualifications, in collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Verify and document product specifications, test methods, and control plans for new and existing products.
• Conduct product claims testing and document results through the claim substantiation process in PLM.
• Determine root causes of product quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Work with internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products.
• Provide technical input to the business team and prepare technical reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Experience or education in product engineering, product development, project engineering, new product introduction, or research laboratory work is relevant.
• Experience with regulated products, FDA requirements, healthcare products, or medical devices is beneficial.
• Strong communication, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of product and process engineering, including coating and slitting, scale-up and manufacturing, Minitab, and statistics.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science.
• Two years of experience in product engineering, product development, new product introduction, project engineering, or research laboratory work.
