Regional Sourcing and Category Manager

Location: Altamira, Mexico; onsite role

What you will do

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies using contracts, purchasing tools, supplier management, aggregation, and standardization.
• Select suppliers and negotiate high-volume contracts at local, regional, and global levels.
• Communicate and execute purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices across Purchasing and related functions.
• Build market intelligence, review commodity spending and trend reports, and implement cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to define requirements and validate sourcing strategies.
• Manage or lead regional Purchasing staff, coach employees, and support department budgeting and compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Purchasing certification or equivalent qualification.
• 8–10 years of industry-related purchasing experience.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing in a multinational industry, contract terms and conditions, supplier markets, business issues, and financial principles.
• Effective verbal and written communication in the local language and English; ability to negotiate contracts and explain complex solutions.
• Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, presentation, and team-engagement skills.
