PHP Developer

Location: Colchester, Essex, South East UK; primarily office-based with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

hirify.global is recruiting for a market-leading travel organisation investing in its in-house technology team.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications using PHP and Symfony.
• Design and develop REST APIs and microservices for internal and external integrations.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.
• Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, CloudWatch, and RDS.
• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and business teams to deliver new features.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile project delivery.

Requirements

• Approximately 3 years of commercial PHP development experience.
• Strong experience with the Symfony framework and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience working with Linux and NGINX environments.
• Strong understanding of Git, plus good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Webpack, and modern JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Redis, SOLR, website performance optimisation, SEO, or Google Tag Manager.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
