Senior Data Architect (Insurance)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid setup

Salary: CHF 128,000–192,000 base salary annually for a full-time role, plus potential performance-based bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and deliver conceptual, logical, canonical, and physical data models across business data domains.
• Lead end-to-end data analysis and solution design for data integration and democratization within a major commercial insurance program.
• Analyze complex datasets using SQL or PySpark and document integration data flows from multiple applications.
• Maintain logical and physical data models in SAP Sybase PowerDesigner for SDLC and Agile development.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, engineers, data scientists, business teams, and customers to address data needs.
• Improve transparency, accessibility, quality, and governance of data assets across the insurance value chain.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience as a Data Architect.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis, data flows, integration, and data warehousing using dimensional and 3NF designs.
• Expertise in conceptual, logical, canonical, and physical data modeling, including SAP Sybase PowerDesigner.
• Strong SQL or PySpark skills for complex data analysis.
• Experience with SDLC and Agile/Scrum software development processes.
• Strategic and analytical thinking, strong communication, collaboration skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance or reinsurance.
• Curiosity about applying AI to data architecture, modeling, analysis, governance, and collaboration.
