Senior Staff Engineer, System Architect (AI)

What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture of the Hivemind Forge AI development ecosystem.
• Define architecture patterns, interfaces, APIs, SDK concepts, and technical standards across software, AI/ML, data, simulation, and deployment.
• Design data and metadata architecture covering schemas, lineage, provenance, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Architect GenAI-enabled and agentic workflows for data curation, autonomy development, experimentation, evaluation, troubleshooting, and deployment.
• Design scalable AI/ML workloads across cloud, HPC, and on-premises environments, including orchestration, scheduling, containers, storage, and data movement.
• Review detailed software and data designs, resolve cross-team architectural issues, and maintain architectural integrity through implementation and integration.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software or software-intensive systems development, design, or architecture.
• Experience architecting complex software platforms, developer ecosystems, SDKs, APIs, AI/ML platforms, or distributed systems.
• Experience with AI/ML solutions using synthetic and real-world data, plus data modeling and data architecture.
• Understanding of end-to-end traceability, reproducibility, auditability, metadata, lineage, provenance, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Slurm or comparable workload schedulers, containerization, infrastructure as code, and S3-compatible storage.
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills across multiple engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-native or agentic workflows, MLOps, distributed training, simulation, synthetic data, experiment tracking, or model registries.
• Experience with VLMs, VLAs, world models, foundation models, autonomy, robotics, aerospace, unmanned systems, or Physical AI.
• Experience deploying platforms in classified, air-gapped, disconnected, restricted-network, hybrid-cloud, multi-cloud, on-premises, or edge environments.
• Experience with MBSE, SysML, Cameo/MagicDraw, or high-assurance defense and aerospace systems.
