Data Architect (Data Engineering)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; flexible work from the office, home, and client sites.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Build robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures for structured and unstructured data.
• Design cloud and distributed data solutions using platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, with frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
• Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
• Implement batch, streaming, and real-time data integration together with CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Support business development, thought leadership, internal training, stakeholder management, and mentoring of junior and medior consultants.

Requirements

• WO Master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with substantial programming.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
• Proven interest in data engineering and strong interest in data and AI-related topics.
• Experience or ability to work with technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
• Fluency in Dutch with excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Nice to have

• Fluency in German or French.
