Spanish Trainer Simulation – Senior Software Simulation Engineer (C++)

Location: Getafe Area, Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model when possible. Availability to travel for approximately one week every two months.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and management of software simulations for the SAETA 2 aircraft trainer's Embedded Training Solution.
• Support the development and operation of SAETA 2 simulators.
• Help design, develop, and deploy Ground Based Training System devices, including virtual reality training devices.
• Investigate new features through feasibility studies to optimize pilot training.
• Elicit, analyze, and document high- and low-level software requirements with full traceability.
• Design real-time software architectures, implement high-performance C++, integrate simulator and avionics HIL solutions, and define automated testing strategies.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience working under strict software development lifecycles such as AQAP or DO-178C.
• Expert C++ skills, including memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Deep knowledge of design patterns, software architecture, Linux, Docker, Conan, and Makefiles.
• Experience with testing frameworks, V-Model development cycles, and integration into complex simulation or embedded avionics environments.
• Advanced English and the ability to deliver training in Spanish are required.
