Senior Data Engineer Consultant (Data Engineering)

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands; flexible work across the office, home, and client sites.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Build scalable data pipelines and architectures for structured and unstructured data.
• Design cloud and distributed data solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
• Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
• Implement batch, streaming, and real-time data integration, along with CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Develop hirify.global’s Data Engineering offerings, contribute to thought leadership and business development, and mentor junior and medior consultants.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with substantial programming.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
• Experience or interest in Data Engineering, data and AI topics, and sectors such as Energy and Finance.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and Dutch or French is required.
• A work permit cannot be provided for this position.

Nice to have

• German fluency.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure.
