Work Preparation Engineer (Optical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Map and maintain SAP R/3 production processes for mechanical-optical systems assembled in cleanroom environments.
• Create and maintain material masters, bills of materials, routings, work centers, inspection plans, quality characteristics, control charts, and manufacturing cost calculations.
• Plan and calculate assembly processes for prototype builds during product development.
• Monitor product launches, production ramp-ups, and engineering change requests.
• Support customer inquiries, quotation preparation, and the calibration and monitoring of inspection equipment.
• Analyze and correct manufacturing cost variances.

Requirements

• Technician qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in production planning, work preparation, or manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledge of optical metrology, optical manufacturing technologies, and assembly under cleanroom conditions.
• Experience with manufacturing cost calculation and product costing.
• Advanced SAP knowledge, particularly in the PP, MM, QM, and CO modules, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Good command of English is required. Strong analytical, decision-making, implementation, and cross-functional collaboration skills are expected.
