Systems Architect (Geospatial Software)

Location: Guildford or Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom; hybrid working with regular UK travel and infrequent worldwide travel.

What you will do

• Translate business, customer, and high-level requirements into robust architectures for geospatial solutions.
• Balance performance, security, reliability, and compliance across system designs.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements to solution design through structured documentation and design rationale.
• Use MBSE methods, including SysML and UML, to model complex system architectures.
• Shape architectural vision by engaging stakeholders and identifying information needed for sound decisions.
• Design for efficiency, component reuse, and long-term system evolution.

Requirements

• Eligibility to gain SC Security Clearance.
• Professional experience designing and owning architectures for complex systems.
• Experience with shared services, service-oriented, or microservices environments.
• Experience working under security, cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance constraints.
• Ability to address complex architectural problems, identify risks, and uphold security regulations.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with geospatial or satellite data products.
