Location: On-site in Mountain View or San Francisco, California; the role is also described as hybrid
Salary: $251,000–$310,000 USD base salary per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.

What you will do
- Manage and grow large teams of software engineers and engineering managers working on ML-based Perception vertical pipelines.
- Drive the design of machine-learning solutions with technical leads across perception product challenges.
- Represent the team within the Perception and Onboard organizations and collaborate on staffing and planning.
- Define team OKRs, create delivery plans, and execute the roadmap.
- Make staffing and technical decisions, handle escalations, and remain accountable for project delivery.
- Develop people and build resilient, high-performing engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or equivalent deep-learning experience.
- Experience managing software engineers and managers of software engineers.
- General experience in machine learning and hands-on experience managing and leading ML projects.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- Ability to work on-site or in the hybrid arrangement associated with Mountain View or San Francisco, California.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or equivalent deep-learning experience.
- Experience working with sensing hardware.
- Experience in self-driving or robotics.
- Publications in top-tier conferences or journals such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, ICRA, IROS, RSS, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCV, or PAMI.
