Staff Technical Lead Manager, ML Sensor Validation (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Hybrid in Mountain View or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $251,000–$310,000 USD base salary annually

What you will do

• Manage and grow software and machine learning engineers building perception pipelines for estimating weather conditions around vehicles.
• Develop and guide machine learning solutions for low-data regimes, including few-shot learning.
• Work with downstream customer teams to define requirements and align product roadmaps.
• Lead hiring, people development, staffing decisions, and the growth of resilient, high-performing teams.
• Define team OKRs, develop execution plans, and drive perception roadmap delivery.
• Make technical decisions, resolve escalations, and represent the team across Perception and Onboard groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or equivalent deep learning experience.
• Experience managing software engineers and managers of software engineers.
• Previous machine learning experience and hands-on experience managing and leading ML projects.
• 8+ years of industry experience.
• Hybrid work in Mountain View or San Francisco, California is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a similar discipline.
• Experience working with sensing hardware.
• Experience in self-driving or robotics.
• Publications at leading conferences and journals such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, ICRA, IROS, RSS, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCV, or PAMI.
