TL;DR
Occupational Health Advisor (occupational health): Delivering fitness-for-work assessments, health monitoring, injury and illness management, rehabilitation support, and workplace wellbeing initiatives for a diverse energy-sector workforce with an accent on clinical governance, employee confidentiality, and return-to-work coordination. Focus on conducting audiometric and spirometric assessments, drug and alcohol testing, injury triage, and rehabilitation planning for employees and contractors.

Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, Australia; rehabilitation activities are based at the Geelong Refinery. Full Australian working rights are required.

Employment: 12-month fixed-term contract, part-time at 0.5 or 0.6 FTE

What you will do

  • Complete fitness-for-work assessments, health monitoring, and follow-up reviews.
  • Assess and support employees returning from personal sick leave or workplace injury and illness.
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing in line with Australian Standards and escalate results to the Medical Review Officer when required.
  • Plan rehabilitation and return-to-work activities for employees and oversee contractor return-to-work arrangements at the Geelong Refinery.
  • Support workplace wellbeing initiatives and collaborate with leaders, employees, People and Culture, and HSSE teams.

Requirements

  • Registered Division 1 Nurse with unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Paramedic Sciences or another suitable Health Sciences discipline.
  • Experience delivering occupational health services, including audiometric assessment and spirometry.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to review medical reports, write clinical notes, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Nice to have

  • Return-to-work coordinator experience.
  • Experience in injury triage and management.
