Chief Technology Officer (CTO) (Rust)

Location: Remote; the company is based in Austin, Texas, and the team currently operates remotely while fundraising.

hirify.global is building OleOle, a football-focused social network and sports super app, alongside a football travel and hospitality marketplace.

What you will do

• Define and lead the long-term technical architecture for the platform.
• Lead Rust-based backend architecture and infrastructure strategy.
• Build scalable systems for social feeds, messaging, live updates, video, and data infrastructure.
• Oversee technical direction across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and product systems.
• Design future rewards, wallet, payment, and crypto-related infrastructure.
• Support AI-powered translation, recommendation, search, and football history systems while ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, and security.

Requirements

• 7–15+ years of software engineering and technical leadership experience, ideally in startups or high-growth consumer technology.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and operating production systems at scale.
• Significant production Rust experience with asynchronous backend systems and distributed infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of APIs, event-driven systems, databases, caching, scalability, and high-concurrency architecture.
• Experience with consumer platforms such as social feeds, messaging, video, financial systems, AI products, or large-scale content infrastructure.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers while remaining directly involved in architecture and implementation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust-based consumer platforms, distributed systems, feeds, messaging, streaming, or recommendation systems.
• Experience with payments, crypto, wallet infrastructure, or gambling systems.
• Experience with AI infrastructure, search, recommendation, or translation systems.
• Startup leadership experience building products from zero to one.
• Passion for football, sports media, or global fan communities.
