Commercial Counsel (Video Games)

Location: Onsite in El Segundo, California, five days per week. Relocation support is available.

Salary: $147,000–$202,000 annually.

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on publishing, platform, services, development, licensing, merchandising, technology, software, and data privacy agreements.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal resources.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and templates.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across teams, cultures, time zones, and languages.
• Work with the IP team to identify, register, protect, and enforce copyrights, trademarks, and domain names.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant legal experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience handling commercial transactions.
• Ability to independently manage commercial matters with minimal supervision.
• Law degree and qualification to practice law in the United States or a common law jurisdiction.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work across time zones, cultures, and languages, including through translators.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a proactive, professional approach.

Nice to have

• Korean language proficiency.
• Experience with legal technology tools or platforms.
• Background in the video game, entertainment, or software technology industries.
