Sr. Engineer - Cloud SDET - Lightning (Hybrid)

Location: USA - Redmond, WA; hybrid with 2–3 days per week on-site

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end validation of Lightning cloud services and their interactions with Falcon Sensors.
• Build and maintain Lightning-specific testing tools and frameworks.
• Define and drive functional, performance, contract, and chaos testing strategies.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews, providing guidance on testability, quality, and code hygiene.
• Improve service observability and monitoring, investigate production issues, and implement measures to prevent outages.
• Mentor engineers and help shape team and product quality practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of combined SDET or backend development experience.
• Experience building testing frameworks and tooling for cloud SaaS products or service-oriented architectures.
• Expertise in at least one of Go, Python, Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C/C++; Go is the primary language.
• Experience with distributed systems, scalability challenges, cloud services, and technologies such as Kubernetes, Cassandra, Redis, or Kafka.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing integration, and containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging, mentoring, testing-strategy, and quality-culture development skills, including practical use of AI technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-latency cloud services, gRPC, and event-driven messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Experience building or validating cloud-connected endpoint software.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or OCI.
• Experience using AI and agentic tools to improve testing workflows and automation.
